DiagnosisLike the dendrobranchiates, stenopodoideans have pereiopods 1,2 and 3 chelate, but they differ in that the third pair of pereiopods are elongate. Females carry their eggs on their pleopods and only the cervical and branchiocardiac transverse grooves are present on the carapace. Finally, they have trichobranchiate gills.
OriginThis group is known only from fossils. |
