Morphology
- 5-10mm in length
- Most notable feature is a
'hood' which can be raised and lowered over the head
- Absence of eyes
- Pedipalps terminate in pincers
which are small relative to the body.
- The opisthosoma forms a narrow
pedicel or waist where it attaches to the prosoma (head region)
- In males, the third pair of
legs is modified to form reproductive organs
