The Apodiformes are the swifts and their relatives. Their lifestyle is based on catching insects and flight. Swifts are probably the most aerial of birds - some evn sleep and mate on the wing! Swifts of temperate climates are migratory. They characteristically have long, swept-back wings and a forked tail.
