Order Gaviiformes

The Gaviiformes are the loons or divers. They are aquatic birds found in many parts of North America and Europe. They swim well and fly adeuately but are uneasy walkers. They hunt their prey - usually krill, fish or squid - underwater. Most nest close to the water.
