Class: Gymnolaemata

Order: Ctenostomata

 

Geological Range: Ordovician - Recent

 

Description: Zooids uncalcified, walls membranous or gelatinous, lacking ovicells. Bowerbankia is member of this order. The photo below shows a colony of Bowerbankia gracilis.  Note individual zooids have extended their lophophores for feeding.
