Major Subgroups of
Bryozoa
Class:
Stenolaemata
Geological
Range: Ordovician
- Recent
Description:
Calcified
marine bryozoans. Cylindrical zooids, which continue to grow throughout
the life of the colony. Tentacle extrusion in living forms is
brought about by muscular action forcing fluid into the basal
part of the zooid, displacing the tentacles out of the orifice.
