Glossary
Arthropod: Animals with a hard outer coat (exoskeleton) and jointed appendages. Living representatives fall into three groupings. The Crustacea (shrimps, crabs and lobsters). The Chelicerata (spiders, mites and scorpions) and the Uniramia, (insects, and other forms)
