Santana Fauna

Pterosaur skeletons found within the Santana Formation are often preserved to minute detail, even including wing and muscle fibres (Martill and Unwin, 1989).

This pterosaur, of the Family ANGHANGUERIDAE, (Campos & Kellner 1985b), had a characteristic long slender skull (around 50cm in the case of this specimen) with a prominent low sagittal crest.

The holotype is part of the Collection Desiree of Mr Rainer Alexander von Blittersdorffi of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
