Herbivores
The largest dietary category among the marsupials in Australia, but absent in the Americas. Grouped into:

Browsers - consume shoots and leaves of plants and shrubs, along with blossom, fruit and sometimes invertebrates. Examples include the koala, some species of possum and wallabies, and the tree-kangaroo.

Grazers - consume grass, forbs and low shrubs. All species with this diet are terrestrial or sub-terrestrial, none are arboreal, and include wallabies, wombats and kangaroos.
